Elder/Deacon
The Elders and Deacons provide spiritual leadership while seeking God's
direction by example, encouraging full commitment to Christ through
service, teaching and being available to counsel both individuals and
families. A Deacon's fund is used to help meet the needs of people
who satisfy the criteria.
Deaconess
The Deaconesses support women of JBC with prayer and meeting their special
needs. The Deaconesses meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Hospitality
This ministry provides times of fellowship through meals, coffee times,
showers, wedding and funerals in an atmosphere of Christ's love, seeking
to draw in new attendees and non-believers so that they can come to know
God's love also.
Prayer Chain
Our church has a group of people who pray for those who have urgent
prayer needs.
SPECIAL MINISTRIES
Community Give-Away
This is a community-wide event where gently used items of clothing and miscellaneous items are available free for the taking. It takes place on Friday and Saturday in May (date to be determined).
Vacation Bible School
VBS is a week long summer program for our own children and for
community outreach.
Angel Tree/Giving Tree
Each Christmas season we reach out to needy families of prisoners (Angel
Tree) and to the needy families of our own fellowship and community
(Giving Tree) by providing Christmas gifts these families would otherwise
not be able to afford.
Food Baskets
During the holidays, food is collected for distribution to families in
need in our own fellowship and to some in the community.
Haiti Children
Our Sunday School offerings go to provide the basic needs of certain
Haiti children we sponsor through MBC Bridge Builders.
